Tinkering is best defined as purposeful play that fosters creativity and discovery in children. A tinker is "one who experiments with materials and ideas to fully understand their capacities, and who further iterates on their learning to find better solutions to current problems. Tinkering is about hands-on experiences, learning from failures, and unstructured time to explore and invent." In this class, students will have the opportunity to tinker with a variety of materials, scientific concepts, and engineering practices in order to solve fun challenges. This class will include LEGO Robotics and K'NEX challenges.
